For this exhibition, Charlotte de Beus (text) and Julia July (design) created a poem that contorts itself into impossible shapes, reflecting the difficulties artists face in securing financial and artistic viability. What distortions arise from constantly adjusting work to meet open call guidelines and funding requirements? What remains unseen due to numerous restrictions?
The work was exhibited by the artists' collective ROEM as part of the exhibition Voor de Vorm at the Leiden City Hall from July 6 to September 28, 2023.
